Huon Channel Cricket Association Round 3 matches resulted in losses to Slab Road's A and B Grade and a first win for C Grade.
A Grade played at Huonville and with Slab winning the toss elected to bat. Jason Clark 62, Daniel Watson 28, David Bone 24 were the main scorers. Slab Road were all out for 209. Gerard Warren and Max Carter played their first game in A grade.
In reply Huonville reached the target with ease. I cannot report on the bowlers as the page is missing from the score book, something fishy going on or maybe the figures were far too bad.
B Grade played at home on Saturday hosting Longley. Slab Road won the toss and had a bat first, but could only manage 95 runs. Captain for the day Adam Coad 33 and Jeremy Cracknell 23 were the best of the batsmen.
In reply Longley reached the target in the 23rd over for the loss of two wickets.
C Grade played Longley at Slab Roads home ground and with the inclusion of Justin Jarrett 65 (only helping out for the day as Saturday games interfere with his bowls) was assisted by Damien Duggan 25, reached a winning score of 169.
Pat Coulson 3/20, Brady Ford 3/16, Oscar Carter 2/22, Justin Jarrett 2/38 bowled well for C Grade's first win of the season.
A big Thank You must go to the guys that helped field 3 sides over the weekend.
It is with great happiness that the Slab Road Cricket Club sends their best wishes to Damien Clark and Belinda (Thurley) on their beautiful wedding celebrated last Saturday. To the guests that had the privilege of attending this special day witnessed a very moving celebration and enjoyed spending their first meal with them as husband and wife. Congratulations to you both.
