Coulson scores century

Highlight for the Slab Road Cricket Club in Round 15 of the Huon Channel Cricket Association's matches last weekend was 116 not out scored by Ian Coulson in the C2 match against Snug on Sunday.

Round 15 saw wins in A Grade, C1 and C2 while B Grade were convincingly beaten.

Round 15 in A Grade saw the Roadies continue on their winning way when they defeated the Woodbridge Wombats at Woodbridge on Saturday.

Batting first, the home side batted 45 overs before being dismissed for 137.

Damien Clark, back bowling again, claimed the honours with figures of 4/24 while Gordon Kerr was economical in claiming 2/10 off nine overs.

In reply, the Roadies reached the target in the 25th over, being six wickets down.
The Watson brothers scored the bulk of the runs, Bradley with 46 not out top scoring and Daniel making 34.

B Grade put in another dismal performance at home on Saturday against the Kingston Crows, getting a good old beating. Batting first, the Roadies could only manage 81 all out off 43 overs. Rodney Dance top scoring with 22.
In reply, the Crows scored the required runs with only one wicket down off 20 overs.
The Roadies need to turn things around if they are to make the finals, let alone defend their premiership.

C1 played on Saturday this weekend when they travelled overseas to Bruny Island.
After a poor performance the previous game, the Roadies bounced back to score a convincing win over the home team.

Batting first, the Roadies reached 214 before being dismissed.
Marcus Synnott top scored along with Kane Neilson with 43 runs, Daniel Webster made 25 and Peter Ross 21.


In reply, the Roadies bundled out Bruny for 124.
Daniel Webster claimed 3/31 while Peter and son Jordan Ross claimed two wickets each.

C2 scored a good win at home in their Sunday clash against Snug, with Coulson's century the highlight.

Batting first, Snug reached 185/6 after their 50 overs. Corey Shaw took the bowling honours with figures of 3/31, Nick Duggan lent good support in taking 2/35 and Damien Duggan took 1/30.

In, reply the Roadies reached the total in the 30th over courtesy of a fine century, 116 not out, to Ian Coulson.

Ben Smith 25 and Nick Duggan 16 also made good contributions with the bat.
