Round 13 in the HCCA roster matches saw some big numbers turn up at the Slab Road cricket club. No fewer then 12 players scored ducks over the weekend which could only mean a late rush to be a member of the ever increasing club.
A grade had a bye over the weekend.

B grade played at home on Saturday and scored a convincing win over the visiting Blackman’s Bay team. Winning the toss and batting, the visitors were restricted to 133 all out off 48 overs. CPT Daniel Walter continues his fine year form with the ball taking 4/25 off 10 overs. Adam Coad also bowled 10 economical overs taking 2/22. In reply the Roadies needed only 24 overs to overtake the visitors score being 3/137 when victory was obtained. Opening batsmen Paul Cowen remained 49no., while Justin Jarrett 38 and Rodney Dance 29 made solid contributions.

C1 played at Margate on Sunday and to say the least put in an absolute shocker. Batting 1st Margate were restricted to 163 off 50 overs, youngsters Tyler Cowen 3/23 off 10 overs and Jordan Ross 3/37 off 10 overs being outstanding with the ball. In reply the Roadies were destroyed and bundled out for a meagre 21 runs in 10 overs. Col Roberts with 9 and extras 6 top scored in a terrible performance with the bat, with 6 batsmen failing to score.

C2 went down to the Kingston Crows on Sunday in a closer game. Batting 1st the Crows were dismissed for 206. Corey Shaw 4/60, Pat Coulson 3/53 and Nick Duggan 2/44 were our leading wkt takers. In reply our batsmen reached 167 before being all out. Nick Duggan continues to impress top scoring with 61, Ben Smith 35 also batted well while Matthew Coulson 14no, Pat Coulson 13 and Aron Dance 13 also made contributions with double figures
