Roadies win A Grade Premierships
Slab Road were crowned Champions of the HCCA for the second year as they went back to back in winning the A Grade Premiership at Lightwood Park on Saturday (28/3/09). The Roadies bowled the Kingston Crows out for 185 thanks to a man of the match performance by Damien Clark taking 7 for 37 off 9.1 overs. The Roadies chased the runs down with two wickets to spare.

Slab pinch B Grade title for 2008-09
Slab Road Cricket Club's B Grade made amends for last years Grand Final defeat by taking the Premiership from the Southern Tigers at Franklin on Saturday (28/3/09). The Roadies defended 137 with just 5 runs to spare. At one stage the Tigers needed just 15 runs with three wickets in hand, before the Roadies stole the win from them. David Bone was man of the match, top scoring with 59 runs and taking 2 wickets for 17 runs off 3.2 overs.

Doey wins Cricketer of the Year
A Grade opening bowler Damian "Doey" Clark has won Slab Road's Cricketer of the year for 2008-09. Clark received 176 votes ahead or Aron Cherry on 130 votes. Clark also was named Best Fieldsmen for the season as well.

In B Grade Marcus Boks won Cricketer of the year on 132 votes ahead of Paul Cowen on 96 votes. Boks won the Best Fieldsman award also.

C Grade saw swashbuckling allrounder Rhys Jennings (158) take the award from Tyler Cowen (111). Jennings kept the trend going by also being the best feildsman.

Under 13s win Premiership
The Young Roadies won the Under 13s Premiership on Wednesday night (25/2/09). The Roadies bowled Huonville out for 85 and chased the runs 3 down to finish 3/88. Well done boys and to the Coach Peter Ross.

Funky's Fantasy
Paul Cowen's Fantasy Cricket side "Funky's Development Squad" won the inaugural competition with 1916 points with David Griffith's "Griffo's XI" (1887) and Jason Clark's "Men at Work" (1854) finishing cloesly behind. The Wattle Grove Gummy Sharks finished last on (1352) pleasing Greg Watson.
